Flu Season Survival

My mother would always say that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I never really listened because I really didn't understand where she was coming from. I mean really, let's think about this. Does anyone really wake up thinking I'm going to prevent myself from getting sick today? Does anyone get up and say, I really need to ensure that I'm ready to take on any germs I might encounter? The answer is yes. There are many people who consciously make a decision to be prepared to fight the elements. There are people who understand that our bodies are constantly being exposed to things that will make us sick whether it is air born or ingested. Most of these people are health care professionals who have had extensive training with regards to common illnesses that manifest themselves as contagious viruses and infections. They are constantly reminded about the threat because they work around sick people day in and day out. They are constantly reminded that the battle to survive infections and disease is a daily battle. We have to develop this mind set.
